The Economic and Public Sector Program partnered with GSMA Connected Women to run a workshop series throughout PNG in 2014. Co-facilitators were Dr Amanda H A Watson and Ms Catherine Highet. Two workshops were conducted in Port Moresby. Workshops were also held in Buka and Madang. To conclude the series, the two organisations co-hosted a roundtable for practitioners in March 2015. The roundtable provided opportunity for practitioners to share experiences, ideas, challenges and solutions. Attendance was by invitation only, with organisations involved having either established a mobile phone project, or being in the very advanced stages of organising a project. Projects that were discussed included call centres, toll-free hotlines and SMS quizzes. At the end of the roundtable, an email group was formed, so that participants could stay in touch and share resources, contacts and solutions. Most of the participants had attended at least one workshop of the workshops, jointly run by the Economic and Public Sector Program and GSMA Connected Women.
